Advantage EMR Technical Requirements
Advantage EMR is designed to work on virtually any modern office
computers, and does not require a separate server or other
hardware. Depending on your individual practice size and
usage system usage, a separate server could be used. We can
help you with this decision.

Wireless Networking
In some instances 802.11b (11 MBps) wireless provides
insufficient bandwidth and connection stability required by a
busy office. We recommend the use of 802.11g (54+ MBps) and
SRX technology to remedy this. Also, the use of remote
desktop software is recommended for wireless environments.
Supported Backup Types
We will accept a database copied to either CD or DVD media in
the event that it needs to be examined by our technicians. Due
to a great variety of backup devices including solid state,
tape, HD, Zip and other drives, we must limit our support to CD
and DVD based backup. As an optional service, we offer
daily remote backups, which would obviate the need for you to
back up your data and would also provide greater data security. Please

We recommend that an experienced IT networking consultant is
retained to set-up and maintain your network. Advantage EMR
configuration is simple; however it is advisable for this
consultant to contact us prior to configuring your network to
obtain information about optimal Advantage EMR configuration.
